SVS Proudly Supporting Local Charities in Aberdeen
SVS is proud to continue supporting local charities in Aberdeen, with a recent donation of £1,123.75 presented to Aberdeen Foyer.
This meaningful contribution was part of a larger charity initiative during our recent company celebration, where raffles and auctions were held to raise funds for worthy causes.
Thanks to the generosity of our employees, partners, and guests, we successfully raised a total of £4,495.00, which has been shared between four local charities.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and contributed on the night—it truly made a difference.
Aberdeen Foyer is a well-established social enterprise that works across the North East of Scotland, providing support for individuals facing challenges such as unemployment and homelessness.
Accepting the cheque on behalf of the Foyer was Cathy Simpson (Communications Manager), with the presentation made by SVS Director Gerry Henry.
Leona McDermid, Chief Executive at Aberdeen Foyer, shared insight into how the funds will be used:
“Certain elements of our work attract little or no public funding. Often, it is these hard-to-fund areas—such as toiletries, a bus pass, or clothing for an interview—that can have the greatest impact. We are incredibly grateful for SVS’s support, which allows us to offer these essential stepping stones to those most in need.”
This donation reflects SVS’s ongoing commitment to supporting local charities in Aberdeen and contributing to our wider community. Director Gerry Henry commented:
“Helping young people and those in need is a priority for us. Everyone deserves equal opportunities to succeed, and we’re proud to give back to a community that supports us too.”
Established in 1995, Aberdeen Foyer has been instrumental in helping vulnerable young people and adults build independent, fulfilling lives.
Their services include supported accommodation, education and training programmes, mentoring, employment assistance, and health improvement initiatives.
At SVS, we believe that real change starts at the local level. Supporting local charities in Aberdeen is one way we help empower people, encourage opportunity, and create stronger communities.
During the night we also held various raffles in aid of charity and raised a colossal £4,748.50 for the following local charities. Thank you to all who contributed, it means a lot to us.
