SVS recently carried out a detailed Subsea Actuator Inspection, flushing, and maintenance operation for one of our long-standing offshore clients. This project forms part of our ongoing support in delivering high-quality valve and actuator services across the energy sector.

To begin, our experienced valve technicians performed a full inspection of the Subsea actuator. This step allowed the team to identify areas that needed attention prior to maintenance. By diagnosing potential issues early, we ensured the overall process would meet strict industry standards.

Following the inspection, we moved on to the flushing stage. Our technicians used a Digital Particle Counter along with a Flushing Test Unit to take fluid samples from the actuator. These tools are crucial in confirming the cleanliness level of hydraulic systems.

Importantly, the fluid was tested to verify compliance with NAS 1638 standards. We continued the flushing process until the cleanliness level reached NAS 6, which matched our client’s exact specifications. This step guaranteed the actuator would perform reliably under subsea conditions.

In addition to flushing and cleaning, our team performed general maintenance on the actuator. This included lubricating moving parts, checking seals, and confirming all functions met operational requirements. Every part of the process was documented for full traceability.
